About Me

Donna Murray

LPCC-S, LPC-S, LCMHC

Hi, I’m Donna, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Supervisor who has been honored to walk alongside individuals on their healing journeys since 1996. My path into counseling began much earlier than my formal training while at the age of eleven, after reading a magazine article about child abuse that deeply moved me. In that moment, something inside me knew my purpose would be to help others find safety, healing, and hope. That calling has guided my work for nearly three decades.

Alongside my professional education and clinical experience, my personal life has profoundly shaped who I am as a therapist. I was a single mother for sixteen years and have experienced the devastating loss of a loved one to overdose. These humbling and painful chapters refined my understanding of grief, trauma, and resilience in ways no textbook ever could. They taught me what it truly means to survive, to persevere, and to keep moving forward when life feels overwhelming.

My story is also one of redemption and courage. Today, my daughter is a thriving twenty-two-year-old business owner - a living reminder that growth and transformation are always possible, even after hardship.

My Approach

My approach is eclectic and individualized, which means I tailor therapy to meet your unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. When I work with you, I see you as a whole person, not a diagnosis or a problem to be fixed. I believe every individual has inherent worth and deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, regardless of past experiences or current struggles. I am a firm believer in human resilience. Even when you have lived through trauma, pain, or brokenness, you still possess a powerful and developable capacity to heal, grow, and change.

My therapeutic style is down-to-earth, supportive, and emotionally safe. I believe therapy should feel meaningful and engaging, and when appropriate, I welcome humor into the process, because sometimes laughter truly is part of healing.

Modalities

I have extensive training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Person-Centered and Strengths-Based approaches, Relapse Prevention and Motivational Interviewing, as well as Mindfulness and Meditation practices. I work with adults across the lifespan, from young adulthood through the senior years. For clients who desire it, I am also able to incorporate a faith-based approach into therapy upon request.

Outside of my work, I enjoy reading, walking in nature, watching suspense movies, volunteering in my community and church, and spending time with family and friends. I share my home with one rescued cat and one rescued dog, who remind me every day of the power of compassion and second chances.

I invite you to reach out using the link below. I would be honored to meet you and walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and hope.
