Women's Mental Health Therapy for South Carolina Residents

Online Therapy for Women in South Carolina

You have spent years being the person everyone else leans on. The one who holds it together, shows up, and keeps going. And now something has shifted. The coping that used to work is not working anymore. The weight of what you are carrying is harder to set aside. And somewhere underneath all of it, there is a version of you that needs tending to.

You do not have to find your way through it alone. Donna works with women using a trauma-informed, research-backed approach that addresses what is actually keeping you stuck, not just what is visible on the surface. Every session is built around your real life and your actual experience.

Donna provides virtual sessions for women across South Carolina through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. If you have been searching for a therapist who gets what women carry, you are in the right place.

Therapy for Women Ready for Something to Actually Change

Sometimes you reach a turning point. A loss, a transition, a relationship that has finally broken open, or simply a moment where you realize you cannot keep going the way you have been. Whatever brought you here, something in you is ready.

Therapy meets you at that turning point. It helps you process what you have been carrying, understand the patterns that have kept you stuck, and build something different, not just cope with what exists.

Therapy That Holds the Full Range of Women's Experiences

Women come to therapy carrying things that are specific to their experiences as women, and often carrying them in silence. Donna's work is built to hold all of it.

Trauma and relationships. Many of the patterns women struggle with in relationships, the over-giving, the people-pleasing, the difficulty trusting or being vulnerable, trace back to earlier experiences where those patterns kept them safe. Therapy helps you go back to where those patterns formed, release what your body has been holding, and begin relating to others and yourself in a way that feels more like who you actually are.

Anxiety and depression. Anxiety in women often shows up as hypervigilance, over-responsibility, and an inability to slow down without guilt. Depression can look like numbness, disconnection, or a flatness that is hard to explain. Therapy works at the root of what is driving these experiences so they can begin to shift rather than just be managed.

Perimenopause and menopause. This season brings far more than physical change. For many women it surfaces old wounds, identity questions, grief over the body and self they knew, and mood shifts that can feel destabilizing. You are not overreacting. Therapy helps you make sense of what this transition is bringing up so it becomes a season of clarity rather than one you simply endure.

Reproductive health and identity. Fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, postpartum depression and anxiety, and the complicated emotions that come with decisions about your body deserve real attention. These experiences are often minimized by others, and they deserve a space where they are not.

Grief and loss. Grief takes many shapes and follows no predictable path. You may be grieving a person, a relationship, a version of yourself, or a future that did not unfold the way you imagined.

Therapy creates space for all of it, at your pace, without pressure to move on before you are ready.

An Approach Built Around You

Donna brings training across a wide range of evidence-based modalities, which means the work is always shaped by what you actually need rather than a single approach applied to everyone.

Her practice draws from EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Gottman's Model for couples work. Faith-based therapy is available for clients who want their faith to be part of the healing process. It is offered, never assumed.

Donna holds specialized training in women's health through Harvard Medical School and is completing certification through SBHP (Star Behavioral Health Providers) to work with veterans and military service members. This fall she will add certification in Mental Health and Aging, reflecting her commitment to supporting women through every season of life.
