Women's Mental Health Therapy for Ohio Residents
Online Therapy for Women in Ohio
You have been holding it together for a long time. Managing the job, the relationships, the household, the emotions of everyone around you. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, you started to lose track of yourself. What you need, what you feel, who you are outside of what you do for everyone else.
Whatever brought you here, you do not have to figure it out alone. Donna works with women using a trauma-informed, research-backed approach that gets to the root of what you are carrying, not just the surface. The work is built around your actual life, not a generic process.
Donna provides virtual sessions for women across Ohio through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. If you have been searching for a therapist who truly understands what women carry, you are in the right place.
Therapy for Women Navigating a Major Transition
Some chapters of life arrive without a roadmap. A divorce. A career shift. Children leaving home. A health diagnosis that changes everything. A milestone birthday that leaves you questioning who you are now and who you want to become. Some of these transitions arrive with grief attached. Others arrive with a quiet, unsettling sense of now what.
Either way, you do not have to navigate it alone.
Therapy helps you process the fear and grief that major transitions bring, make sense of who you are on the other side, and move forward with more clarity and steadiness than you could find on your own.
Therapy That Understands What Women Carry
Women's experiences are specific, layered, and often go unacknowledged in traditional therapy settings. Donna's work is built around the full range of what women actually face, not just the parts that are easy to talk about.
Trauma and relationships. So much of what women carry traces back to relationships. A childhood where love felt conditional or unsafe. A relationship that wore you down over time. Patterns of over-functioning, people-pleasing, or making yourself smaller to keep everyone else comfortable. Therapy helps you trace those patterns back to where they started and release what your body has been holding, so you can show up differently in your relationships and in your relationship with yourself.
Anxiety and depression. For women, anxiety does not always look like panic and depression does not always look like sadness. It can look like constant busyness, difficulty saying no, feeling responsible for everyone's emotions, or a low-grade numbness that is hard to name. Therapy works with the underlying experiences driving those patterns so the anxiety quiets and the fog begins to lift.
Perimenopause and menopause. This transition reaches far beyond the physical. Mood shifts, sleep disruption, grief over the body you knew, a resurfacing of old wounds, and deep questions about identity and purpose are all part of what this season can bring. You are not overreacting. Therapy creates space to process all of it so this chapter becomes clarifying rather than overwhelming.
Reproductive health and identity. Fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, postpartum depression and anxiety, decisions about your body, and the complicated grief or relief that follows are experiences that deserve real attention and a therapist who will not minimize what they mean to you.
Grief and loss. Grief does not follow a timeline, and it does not always look like what others expect it to. You may be grieving a person, a relationship, a version of yourself, or a future that did not unfold the way you planned. Therapy holds space for all of it, including the parts that feel too hard to say out loud.
You do not have to have the right words. You just have to reach out.
An Approach Built Around You
Donna brings training in a wide range of evidence-based modalities so the work is shaped by what you actually need, not a single method applied to everyone.
Her approach draws from EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Gottman's Model for couples work. If faith is an important part of your life and you want it to be part of your healing, faith-based therapy is available as well. It is never assumed or imposed, simply offered for those who want it.
Donna holds specialized training in women's health through Harvard Medical School and is completing certification through SBHP (Star Behavioral Health Providers) to work with veterans and military service members. This fall she will add certification in Mental Health and Aging, reflecting her commitment to meeting clients through every season of life.
